We’re doing a street roda for the Goldborne festival this Sunday 20th June and we need as many people to come down and play! Let’s all meet at 1:45PM at Ladbroke Grove tube. We can get a bus down to the festival together.
The Roda will prob kick off around 2PM and go on for an hour or so…
Please bring your berimbau or pandero if you’ve got one. The good news is that we should get free food and drinks after so will be a nice way to spend a sunday afternoon.

Hi All,
This is a bit late notice but it was the only date possible. Next Tuesday 15th June we will have a special class in knife-defence training techniques using the principles of Russian Systema.
I know this is not strictly Capoeira-related but I feel it would be of great benefit to those that take part. We will be working breathing, psychology and movement principles all of which are fundamental aspects in capoeira too.
I have got Aran from Global Kick to come down to do this special workshop for us – you can find some background information on him on his website:http://www.globalkick.com/index.html
We will also cover a number of topics such as evasion, psychology of knife violence, use of breath, blade awareness, knife up close, working when dropped to floor, grab and stab situations, hidden blade attacks, sudden rush, drills to fortify psyche and help people adapt to the intensity of a knife based altercation and so on. Don’t know if we’ll have time to cover all of that in an hour and a half but it’ll be a nice intro at least! Also if this is successful, I will organise a follow up workshop next month.
This special class will be limited to 10 people and will cost £13 on a first come first served basis. Please let me know if you’re in ASAP so that you don’t miss out on what should be a really interesting and useful workshop.
