Mestre Marcio started Capoeira at the age of ten with Manoel Olimpio de Souza, Mestre Indio do Mercado Modelo, in Salvador, Bahia. He then trained with Mestre Indio in the Oxossi academy until he was made a Mestre in 2003.
In 2000, M. Marcio and CM Robo Gigante started the group Pernada Baiana. The group now exists in London, Brazil (Salvador), Italy (Rome) and Holland (Amsterdam).
After 2 years teaching in Italy, Mestre Marcio is now in London where he teaches regular evening classes as well as in primary schools. He has a BA in Physical Education and speaks Portuguese, Italian and English.
His classes are highly energetic with an emphasis on the martial aspects of Capoeira. The atmosphere is very friendly and all levels are always welcome to all classes.
M. Marcio is delighted to be teaching in London and the development of his group leaves him very enthusiastic for the future.
